Direct to Film (DTF) Explained

The MVP when you want colour, clarity, and crazy versatility. It’s the method that lets you print bold, detailed designs onto almost anything, from cotton tees to poly blends – even leather and wood.

[ Step 1 ]

Design Prep.

Designs are created in high resolution (300 DPI or more) and saved as PNGs with transparent backgrounds – so only the artwork transfers, no unwanted edges.

[ Step 2 ]

Transfer Printing.

Your design is printed in reverse onto special PET film using a DTF printer loaded with CMYK and white inks. First comes the colour, then the white base layer that makes everything pop – especially on dark fabrics.

[ Step 3 ]

Powder & Cure.

While the ink is still wet, a layer of hot-melt adhesive powder is applied to the print. It’s then cured under heat to activate the glue.

[ Step 4 ]

Heat Press Transfer.

The film is placed onto the garment and pressed with heat and pressure. Once transferred, the film is peeled away, leaving your design perfectly sealed to the fabric.

[ Step 5 ]

Finishing touches.

Each piece is checked for colour, clarity, and alignment. No flaking or fading, just smooth, sharp results that are ready to wear.
